BIKE TOUR - Sightseeing Tour of Sustainable Buildings

Bikes will be available for rent on this 11-mile scenic tour of the St. Louis area. Bike Rental and Tour: $30.00 (Using your own bike: $10:00.).

Cost includes shuttle, drinks and lunch.

Kerr Family Foundation Building
21 O’Fallon
The first wind turbine in St. Louis city is among the features that earned the Kerr Family Foundation at 21 O'Fallon Street a platinum rating on the U.S. Green Building Councils Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.

Security Building
319 N. 4th Street
The Security Building was designed by the Boston firm of Peabody, Stearns and Furber in 1892 and was the home of numerous investment and security companies. The building serves as the company’s headquarters. In late 2007, the building was awarded LEED Silver certification and is believed to be the first such historic building in the state of Missouri.

EarthWays Center- A division of the Missouri Botanical Gardens

The EarthWays Home is a three-story Victorian residence built in 1885. It was renovated in 1994 to showcase practical demonstrations of energy efficient systems, recycled products and waste reduction practices.

Cortex
4320 Forest Park Ave
CORTEX One is a three-story, 165,000-square-foot facility located at Boyle and Forest Park Parkway.  The project received LEED certification and Certified Level in the LEED-CS (core and shell projects) category of ratings. In addition, St. Louis Construction News & Review honored CORTEX One with a Regional Excellence Award in the health and science category.

Solae
4300 Duncan Ave
The Solae Company global headquarters is a 172,000-square-foot, four-story corporate office/lab/pilot plant building located on the CORTEX campus. It is currently registered LEED NC and has embraced sustainable design features. Final LEED NC certification is anticipated in summer of 2008.

Enright Homes 
5351 Enright
The Enright project is two parts - conversion of the Enright School itself into condos, and the infill of 26 homes on to the original ball fields. Each of the homes is designed with ICF as the main building technology, from the basement up to the eaves.
